Details
Cannondale's brilliant CAAD10 2 Black Inc. is the sleeper at the start line. It may look understated but its incredible performance speaks for itself. Meticulously shaped aluminum tubes are light and compliant so you can ride stronger and longer while features like its BB30 bottom bracket make it impressively stiff for maximum power transfer, excellent acceleration, and climbing prowess. Up front Cannondale's SPEED SAVE carbon fork with a tapered steerer rockets through corners and tames rough pavement with ease. Plus, this race-ready rig is equipped with fast Shimano Ultegra wheels and an awesome electronic Ultegra Di2 20-speed drivetrain with compact FSA carbon cranks. Other go-fast specs include the sweet Cannondale stem, bar and seatpost, Ultegra brakes, and the comfy Fizik saddle.
For increased stiffness and improved steering precision, tapered head tubes (see image, on left) and forks pair an oversize lower steerer tube (usually 1 1/2-inch, see image, on right) with a standard diameter upper steerer tube (usually 1 1/8-inch). This combination sheds weight compared to straight 1 1/2-inch systems, and adds stability and stiffness when compared to straight 1 1/8-inch systems. The result is a bike that tracks better through corners while allowing for the use of standard stems.

Cannondale's SPEED SAVE rear stays (left) and fork (right) create a micro suspension system that allows the bicycle’s wheels to track the ground, improving comfort, control, traction and handling. This allows the bike to roll faster, accelerate better and corner harder without affecting pedaling efficiency. |
BB30 is an oversize bottom bracket standard that boosts stiffness and decreases weight. BB30 bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into compatible frames, meaning there are no heavy external cups to thread in. And, BB30 cranksets feature 30mm-diameter spindles (standard spindles are smaller) for greater pedaling efficiency and increased power transfer.

Comments:
The bike rides itself. You deliver the power and it feels like the bike doubles it. Handles like a dream. It's like a quiet shadow of an owl that you see in the corner of your eye in mid flight, and when you look up at it, it's gone.
