Cannondale's SuperSix EVO Red is built for racking up the miles and leaving the pack behind. This thoroughbred boasts Cannondale's Ballistec carbon frame and fork that accelerates your riding and racing to the next level. From aerodynamic touches like narrower down and top tubes and slimmer fork blades, to compliance zones that damp vibrations and boost speed, to specifically tuned high-strength, high-modulus fibers that maximize strength and stiffness, the EVO has the goods for speed. The parts spec is equally fixated on speed with feathery Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels and SRAM's World Tour-proven RED 22 components. Dress it up with a sleek Fizik saddle and a spread of Cannondale's own featherweight parts and you've got a bike that's long on performance and rider ergonomics.
For increased stiffness and improved steering precision, tapered head tubes (see image, on left) and forks pair an oversize lower steerer tube (usually 1 1/2-inch, see image, on right) with a standard diameter upper steerer tube (usually 1 1/8-inch). This combination sheds weight compared to straight 1 1/2-inch systems, and adds stability and stiffness when compared to straight 1 1/8-inch systems. The result is a bike that tracks better through corners while allowing for the use of standard stems.
